Stop and Worship

“Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker; for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care.”- Psalm 95:6-7

This verse automatically set me singing this morning.  What a fabulous way to start the day!

I realized yesterday, that Monday’s are going to be crazy in our home this semester.  Mornings filled with homeschool for the 6 year old, PE for the 3 year old, a quick weekly grocery trip right after lunch, PE for the 6 year old at 2, homeschool choir at 4, homeschool band at 5 (my hubby and I help teach these 2 on campus), and Seminary Chorus at 6:30.  It’s going to be difficult to find a moment to stop and breathe.  (Also, this schedule is not including our study time after dinner.)

As I was getting ready for bed last night, I realized that I hadn’t had a moment of quiet time all day…not even my normal, turn-up-the-music daily praise time.  How could this be?  I tell you how, I allowed myself to be wrapped in and consumed by business.  Sure, that’s a pretty busy schedule, but it is possible to stop and worship!  How difficult would it have been to stop and admire God’s creation and thank Him for it?  How much time would it have taken to thank Him for my wonderful family?  For His provision for our grocery trip?  For the gift of music He has blessed our family with?  For our desire to learn more about Him?  For those few moments spent at a table on the playground chatting with friends before choir?  For a wonderful husband who willingly cooked dinner while I was at said choir?  For children who make me laugh uncontrollably at time?

Shall I continue?

*Father, thank You for EVERYTHING You have blessed my life with!  Forgive me for not taking a moment to stop and worship You!  You are worthy of all my praise.  I know that if I do not cry out to You, the rocks will!  Help me to always be mindful of You and Your abundant blessings!!!
