I would love to consider myself a closet perfectionist. I guess I am to an extent, but you would NEVER know it to walk into my house. It’s pretty much a mess 99% of the time. I’m always wanting things to be neat and tidy. Perfectly organized and in their designated place. Does that ever happen? Never. Have I fooled people into thinking this is true? Absolutely.
For years and years, if we were expecting company you would find me in a mad rush to put on the image of perfection in my home. Really show quality. I’m just thankful that people weren’t nosy enough to go in rooms with closed doors or look in my closets. They were all stuffed to the brim with clutter that I didn’t take the time to find a home for.
I’m a messy personality. I thrive on piles. One day I got tired of wearing the mask of perfection. It’s terribly exhausting. So, I prayed about it.
I’m thankful for a Father who is forgiving, loving, and FREEING!!! He can free you from all kinds of bondage, as I’ve learned over and over. So, if you are bound behind any sort of mask, ask Him to remove it. It may hurt a bit, (who am I kidding, it hurts A LOT) but it will be worth it in the long run. Give Him reign over the “closets” and “junk rooms” in your life.
So please, if you want to get real, come visit, and have a look through my closets. There you find truth…no secrets.
Allow me to be really real for a moment. Enjoy my closets:
“Come to me all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28
