This morning I am baking away for our annual CHESS homeschool Thanksgiving lunch. It has gotten me thinking about this wonderful place where we live.
Today I am thankful for community!
I can’t even begin to tell you how scared out of my mind I was when God called us to move to New Orleans and go back to school! I had only been to the place 2 or 3 times before in my life. I had only ever heard all the negative things about the place. So, this little country girl was terrified!
Welcome to NOBTS! The professors and staff here LOVE this city, and they were more than eager to share that love with us.
It took less than an hour for me to fall in love with this wonderful little community. When we pulled in with our little Uhaul trailer, we were greeted by men ready to help us move in. One could easily get spoiled living in a place where everyone is called to minister to others. 🙂 They have definitely encouraged me to minister, even when my selfish soul just wasn’t in the mood.
They are here for you when you’re sick or grieving. They are willing to occupy your children when you need a mental health break. And they love to get together to fellowship for any reason at all!
Thanks, community at NOBTS for being a tool God is using to groom me for His service, on many more levels other than academics!
Be blessed and thankful!
