In the Waiting

Have you ever had to wait on God?  It’s a wonderful and terrible place to be.  The uncertainty is completely terrifying, especially if you are like me and are most comfortable when everything is clear and planned out.  Yeah…our God doesn’t work that way.  😉

My family is in one of these times of waiting.  But, I’m not as terrified this time around.  Sure, I will have my moments when I will completely FREAK OUT over it, but that’s part of being human.  But, I know that my Abba, Daddy God has us completely in His arms.

So, I’ve been pouring through the word seeking out encouragement for “in the waiting.”  I wanted to share some of them with you.

“But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”  Isaiah 40:31

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”  Jeremiah 29:11

“I waited patiently for the Lord;
And He inclined to me and heard my cry”  Psalm 40:1

“If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers—most of which are never even seen—don’t you think he’ll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you? What I’m trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God’s giving. People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met.”  Matthew 6:30-33

“Wait for the Lord; Be strong, and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the Lord.”  Psalm 27:14

“The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, To the person who seeks Him.” Lamentations 3:25

We have no idea where God’s will is going to ultimately lead us.  Until He reveals His plan to us completely we shall simply enjoy the rest that comes in the waiting.  We will spend this time worshiping, building friendships, growing closer to Him, growing closer as a family, and just waiting.

Be blessed!
